For many decades the Pine Grove Springs Hotel and its golf course were a popular summer spot for patrons from the New England area but by the 1950s interest in the hotel had waned and by the 1960s a fire spelled the end of the once popular resort. However, the charm and challenge of the golf course had developed a loyal following of devoted golfers who were determined to see it continue, despite the demise of the hotel. In 1971 a corporation was formed and shares of stock were sold to buy the property from the hotel owners. Since that time various operators and shareholders have been instrumental in the continued management and improvement of the golf course.
Over the years its beauty, challenge, and charm have been enhanced. A golf course is never a static piece of property. It is ever-changing along with the growth and loss of trees, subtle changes in topography, and the addition of amenities necessary to accommodate modern day golf, such as motorized carts. However, Pine Grove Springs Country Club continues to attract a robust group of golfers who are entranced and enchanted by the traditional golf experience it provides. We hope that you will be too.
